Allen Earl Miller was born on July 24, 1929 in the sod house of the family farm at Doby Springs, Oklahoma. He was one of eleven children of William Nolan and Mildred (Showalters) Miller. A lifelong Buffalo resident Allen left this life Saturday morning October 15, 2011 at Harper County Community Hospital in Buffalo at the age of 82 years, 2 Months, and 21 days. Allen attended a one room schoolhouse at Doby Springs for 8 years, and then transferred to Buffalo where he graduated in 1947. Allen joined the US Navy in 1950 and traveled the world serving his country until he received his Honorable Discharge in 1954. Allen met the love of his life Theda Joann Williams; they were married on Sunday September 14th, 1958 and made their home in Buffalo.
They are the proud parents of two sons Troy and Travis. In addition to being a farmer and rancher Allen went to work for the Oklahoma Highway Department Div 6 in 1961 and worked hauling heavy equipment all over the district and state until he retired after 25 years of service in 1986. Allen is survived by his loving wife Theda and son Travis of their home in Buffalo; son Troy and wife Jennifer, and 2 granddaughters Kierstin and Kaitlynn, 4 brothers and 1 sister, a host of other relatives, nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday October 20th, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Buffalo.
Interment will be at Highpoint Cemetery in Buffalo. Memorials can be made to the Buffalo Senior Citizen�s Center of the Buffalo Veteran�s Memorial. Wilkinson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Condolences maybe made to the family & Memorial Video view at www.wilkinsonfuneralservice.com
