Troy Dean Rankin, age 85, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014, at OU Medical Center, in Oklahoma City. Mr. Rankin was born in Pampa, Texas on June 27, 1929, to Robert and Gurdie (Gustin) Rankin. After the death of his father, Troy quit school to support the family. He later moved to Illinois where he worked in the construction industry. In the late 1960’s he moved to Amarillo, Texas where he continued the construction trade. Retiring in the early 1990’s, Troy moved to Hollis in 2010 where he lived until his death. Troy loved to spend his spare time, sitting in the yard, working on his house and fishing.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Judy Lynn Rankin; a granddaughter, Christy Rankin and from brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two children, Deborah Carlson and husband Leonard of Salem, Illinois and Larry Rankin and wife Susan of Richmond Hill, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lora Speiser and husband Matt of Salem, Illinois, Troy Dean McCarty and wife Amber of Hagerman, New Mexico and Christopher Rankin of Richmond Hill, Georgia; six great grandchildren, Darrell, Katelyn, Skye, Loren and Brittney along with many other relatives and friends.

A private interment was held at the Westview Cemetery.
