Bobbie Jo Sims, age 87, of Hollis, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, at Harmon Memorial Hospital, in Hollis.
Bobbie was born in Harmon County, on the family farm, North of Hollis, in the T-Cross Community, on July 20, 1925, to Johnny Cecil and Kola Versie (Abernathy) Treadway. Beginning school at T-Cross, Bobbie graduated from Ron High School in 1943. Shortly thereafter, she married M.G. Sims, the love of her life, in Waurika, Oklahoma, on November 20, 1943, while he was stationed at Shepherd Field, in Wichita Falls, Texas. M.G. left immediately, with the United States Army Air Corps, for service during World War II. After his return in October of 1945, they lived with his parents, until 1946 when they moved to their first home Southeast of Hollis. In July 1955, they moved to Hollis where Bobbie lived until her health began to fail. Bobbie and M.G. spent sixty-one wonderful years together before his death on January 30, 2004. Bobbie spent many years teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. Bobbie was a true homemaker and farm wife who was devoted to her family.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one daughter; Toni Lynn Sims-Hibbard; one sister, Johnnie Upton; one brother, Billy Treadway and two brothers-in-law, Marland Upton and Basil Dyess.

She is survived by one son, Randy Sims and wife Lisa of Lake George, Colorado; one daughter, Robbie Holder and husband Danny of Gould; three grandchildren, Dr. Will Sims, DVM of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lt. Tanner Sims of Tampa, Florida and Danna Robinson and husband Mark of Gould; two great grandchildren, Morgan Robinson and Charlie Robinson; one sister, Dorothy Dyess of Amarillo, Texas; a son-in-law, Maurice Hibbard of Manchester, Kentucky along with many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Bobbie Sims will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Mixon officiating. Interment will be at McKnight Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the McKnight Cemetery Fund in memory of Bobbie Sims.
