Dorothy Jeanne (Cansler) Harrison, age 85, of Mangum, passed
away late Monday evening, November 30, 2015, at Quartz Mountain Medical Center
in Mangum. Dorothy was born on July 16, 1930, in Harmon County, Oklahoma to
Robert and Dorothy (Hawkins) Cansler. She married Billie Harrison on August 20,
1949, in El Centro, California. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Church of
Christ and she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her special interest included
reading and studying her Bible and teaching others whenever possible.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billie, in May of 1969; eleven
brothers and sisters, John, Chester, Hulan, Truman, Robert, Sam, Billy, John,
Sadie, Altiva and Chester; four children, three of the boys dying with muscular
dystrophy, Billie Jr., Margaret, Gregory and Timothy, she is survived by ten
nieces and nephews, Robert Cansler, Lee Cansler, Billy Keesee, Donald Keesee,
Joe Cansler and Kriss Smith, Barbara Driscoll, Robert Cole, Patricia Snider and
Beverly Moran; several cousins, including, Zella Ford of Hollis and one brother,
Jay Cansler of Burns Flat.
Funeral services for Dorothy Jeanne Harrison will be at 2 p.m., Saturday,
December 5, 2015, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel with Todd McRay officiating.
Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery, north of Hollis under the direction
of Greer Funeral Home, of Mangum.
