Coy Dale Mullens, age 67, of Hollis, passed away late Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Grace Living Center in Mangum.In April of 1966, Coy joined the United States Army where he was rewarded a Purple Heart, while serving as a sniper during the Vietnam War. In 1968, Coy married Barbara Tarpley and they had two children together, Terry and Rachelle. Coy worked as a ginner in Oklahoma and Texas before going to work for the Oklahoma Highway Department in 1983, where he worked for twenty five years before his retirement. In his free time, Coy enjoyed trading guns, driving around with his dog “Baby Girl” and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
Coy is survived by two children, Terry Mullens and wife Shelly of Mangum and Rachelle Beasley and husband Steve of Springtown, Texas; ten grandchildren, Heath Mitchell and wife Eileen, Elissa Mitchell, Jared Mitchell and wife Brooke, Halie Mullens, Kyle Mullens, Kylie Mullens, Shacie Mullens, Ty Mullens, Laura Silva and husband Jesse and Cody Beasley; one sister Linda Gail David and husband Jack along with many more relatives and close friends.
