Wilma Odessa Thompson, age 87, of Duke, passed away Sunday morning, July 8, 2012, at her son’s residence, in Duke.
Mrs. Thompson was born on August 13, 1924, in Vinson, Oklahoma to Tom and Vera (Hurst) Moffeit. After graduating from Vinson High School, she married the love of her life, Dallas Aubrey Thompson on April 1, 1944, and they were married sixty-four wonderful years before his death on October 23, 2008. She and Dallas made their home in Oregon and Arkansas before moving back to Harmon County. After a revisit of ten years to Oregon, they moved to Duke in 2008. A member of the Church of Christ, Wilma enjoyed quilting, cooking, writing poetry, reading, playing games on her computer and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six sisters and two brothers, Wilma is survived by four sons, Tommie Thompson and wife Mimi of Pace, Florida, Lynn Thompson and wife Kim of Hollis, Eddie Thompson and wife Kathy of Duke and Dale Thompson and wife Ranee of Springfield, Oregon; two daughters, Barbara Walp and husband Hank of Springfield, Oregon and Jackie Thompson of Portland Oregon; one brother, Roy Moffeit of Oklahoma City; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Wilma Thompson will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Beard officiating.
 
Interment will follow at the Gould Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
