Linda Sue Tarpley, 83, of Canadian, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.


The Tarpley family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2025, at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.


Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at Fairmont Cemetery in Hollis, Ok.


Linda was born on September 14, 1942, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Clifford Sexton and Mildred McCutcheon. She graduated from Hollis High School in 1960 and shortly thereafter married the love of her life, Marvin Tarpley Jr., on March 15, 1960.


Linda dedicated many years of service to Southwest Community Action, retiring in 2010. She found great joy in her hobbies, which included traveling, fishing, sewing, knitting, and browsing flea markets.

Linda is survived by her two sons: Mark Tarpley and wife Jody of Miami, Texas, and Billy Tarpley of Hollis, Oklahoma; her daughter, Regina Winters of Cache, Oklahoma; her sister, Sharon Kaye Moore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was blessed with five grandchildren: Dylan and Emily Winters of Cache, Oklahoma; Kasey and Stephan Henson of Alvin, Texas; Tara and Chris Tyra-Garza of Midland, Texas; Tank Tarpley; and Austin Jane Ann Tarpley of Altus, Oklahoma; along with six great-grandchildren.


Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Tarpley Jr.; her parents, Clifford and Mildred Sexton; her brother, Billy Sexton; and her grandson, Logan Keith Graham.


The family extends heartfelt thanks to Mesa View Senior Living (with special gratitude to Zandy), Hemphill County Hospital, Hemphill County Hospice, and to her devoted caregiver, Nikki Wiggins, for the compassionate care she provided.


Linda will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
