Alvilda Ortiz, 73 Years of age, passed on May 18, 2026, at BSA Hospital, Amarillo, TX. Alvilda was born January 3, 1953, in Mathis Texas, to Manuel and Ofelia Jaramillo.

As the oldest of ten children, she helped guide and nurture her siblings with love and strength. In 1966, the family moved to Hollis, where she became a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She graduated from Hollis High School, earned her Associates Degree from Altus Western College, and later proudly graduated from The University of Oklahoma. In 1972, Alvilda married Flores Ortiz and together they had four children. Family memories are rooted in Hollis. She uplifted others through music as a choir director, inspired young children as CCD teacher, and dedicated herself to numerous committees. A woman of many talents and strong work ethic, her final venture was with The Golden Age Apartments, where she served until retiring in 2026. Alvilda treasured every moment spent with family and friends. She delighted in spending time fishing with her grandkids, taking in the moments. She found joy tending to her garden, admiring blooming flowers, listening to birdsong while sipping coffee in the warm sunshine. She was a loving caring person, a devoted mother and friend. In her own words, “I lived a good life”, something we should all strive to have.

Alvilda was proceeded in death by her Husband, Flores, son, Jeffery, and both parents, Manuel and Ofelia.

Alvilda leaves her children, Florenzio Jr., wife Aurora, Steven, wife Sarah, and Angelica, husband Jason; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host siblings. nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Alvilda’s resting place will be next to her mother at Fairmount Cemetery.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Hollis, Oklahoma.
