Kenneth Wayne Loving, age 69, of Hollis, passed away late Thursday evening, January 19, 2011, at Harmon County Memorial Hospital. Kenneth was born on March 6, 1941, in Hollis, Oklahoma to Wilbur Truett and Essie Pauline (Smothermon) Loving. A 1961 graduate of Hollis High School, Kenneth began working at the local movies and drive inn theaters at age thirteen. Later, in high school, he worked at Trammell Grocery and United as a butcher, even driving back from college on the weekends to cut meat. On September 8, 1967, he married the love of his life, Bobbie Garrett, and they spent then next forty-three wonderful years together, until his death. Always having a strong work ethic, Kenneth hauled cotton burs for many years, worked on irrigation pumps during the summer months and worked with his dad at Loving’s Garage. After his dad’s death, he continued to operate the garage until his own death. Kenneth was a faithful school board member for many years, never missing a meeting. His life included several hobbies, such as, fishing, water skiing, working on old cars, spending time working on his old “number 41” red Chevy race car, OU and Hollis football and basketball and making the largest freezer of banana nut ice cream he could make, but the number one hobby Kenneth enjoyed was being with his family and watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events.

Preceded in death by his mother in 1982, his father in 2009, his brother, Charlie in 1982, and his loving daughters, Jennifer and Kenna on May 4, 1987.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie, of the home; one son, Dustin Loving of Duke; two grandsons, Cameron Loving and Dawson Loving; five sisters, Barbara Allen and husband Delton of Oklahoma City, Susie Turner and husband Ron of Augusta, Georgia, Linda French and husband Brent of Oklahoma City, Sherry Burt and husband Jeff of Oklahoma City and Claudette Spencer and husband Wayne of River Falls, Wisconsin; two brothers, Perry Haynes and wife Charsa of Abilene, Texas and Bob Estoll and wife Carla of Hollis; his mother, Jerry Loving of Hollis; his mother-in-law, Zealma Garrett along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
