Irene Dickson, 51, of Hollis, Oklahoma was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis, Oklahoma. Irene Dickson was born March 7, 1962 in Memphis, Texas to the late Mr. A. D. Dickson and Mrs. Little Drew (Smith) Dickson. Irene worked at Altus Air Force Base as a domestic engineer for many years and at Sallie Gillentine Elementary School in the cafeteria. She was a member of Babers’ Temple:COGIC of Hollis, Oklahoma. Irene, in her spare time, loved to play dominoes, visit with friends, and supporting her children in everything they did. Irene was truly a family woman and loved attending church on Sunday and Wednesday and listening to church music. Her favorite color was orange. She loved reading from African American Authors. Irene will truly be missed and was loved by many everywhere she went. She enjoyed watching “Iyanla Fix My Life” on the TV series. She loved collecting movies.She was preceded in death by A. D. Dickson (Father), Little Drew Dickson (Mother), seven brothers, Jesse Dawn, William Lee, Robert James, Raymond, David Earl, Freddie Earl, and Edward Glen Dickson; and a special step mother, Geneva Dickson.
Irene is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Dickson of Hollis,
Oklahoma and Ursula Dickson of Altus, Oklahoma; one son, Nathan
Dickson of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren of the home,
Mercedes and Javon Dickson; two sisters, Charlene Brooks of
Hollis, Oklahoma and Barbara Miller of Texas; one brother,
Willie Ray (Jean) Dickson of Frederick, Oklahoma; and a special
spiritual mother, Mother Tommie Wilson; fifteen grandchildren;
and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Irene Dickson will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday,
September 21, 2013 at Calvary Community Church in Hollis,
Oklahoma with Pastor Otis Babers and Elder Keven Ward
officiating. A Wake will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday,
September 20, 2013 at Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis,
Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in
Hollis, Oklahoma under the direction of Harmon County Funeral
Home of Hollis, Oklahoma.
