Donna Kay Cleere, age 71, of Keller, Texas and formerly of Harmon County, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 31, 2011, at Ethicus Hospital, in Grapevine, Texas.
Donna was born on October 17,1939, on the family farm, North of Hollis, to Clifford and Rubye (Jones) Jennings. After graduating from Ron High School, in 1957, she married Don Cleere on June 12, 1957. Living for a time in Amarillo and Dallas, with Don’s jobs, they returned to Harmon County in 1970 and established a home in Gould. Donna later moved to Hollis where she lived until October 2010, when she moved to Keller to be near her daughters and grandson. For many years, Donna served as a typesetter for the Hollis newspaper before becoming a long time employee of the State Health Department. She was also a longtime member of the Church of Christ. Donna enjoyed reading and writing poetry, but she also loved working crossword puzzles, playing dominoes and bingo and watching The Price is Right and many other game shows.
Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Jennings, she is survived by three daughters, Connie Kuebeck and husband Peter of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mary Ann Leasman and husband Robert of Ft. Worth, Texas and Keri Page and husband Dustin of Lewisville, Texas; one grandson, Connor Leasman of Ft. Worth, Texas; two sisters, Sue Ewing and husband Sid of Dodson, Texas and Kathy Meason of Cyril, Oklahoma along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Donna Cleere will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at the Hollis Church of Christ with Mark Bullington officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home.
