Garry Chumley, age 57 of Wellington, Texas and formerly a longtime resident of Hollis, passed away early Sunday morning, July 20, 2014 at the Wellington Care Center in Wellington, Texas. Garry was born in Hollis on September 9, 1956 to Max and Hazel Marie (Packwood) Chumley. Garry graduated from Hollis High School and worked as a Truck Driver for many years. He enjoyed quail hunting and his hunting dogs, especially Lucy, driving trucks and motorcycles, and Garry loved spending time with his grandchildren.Preceded in death by his father and one grandson, Trevor Wayne Oliver.
Garry is survived by his mother, Hazel Chumley of Wellington; one son, Chad Chumley and his wife Crystal of Francis, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shardee Chumley of Healdton, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Chumley of Hollis; one sister, Shirley Dodson and husband Duane of Wellington; seven grandchildren, Garryn, Trent, Wesley, Sharee, Aspen, and Tyler; one nephew and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis. Interment will follow services at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis.
