Mildred Dabbs was born April 15, 1922 to Robert and Virgie Dabbs. She attended Westview School. Mildred married Earl Edmonson on October 23, 1938 in Gould. The family lived in the Ron Community where Mildred worked alongside Earl on the farm and took care of the home and family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Mildred loved her Church where she was active until her health failed. She also loved music and sang in the Choir. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the 1941 Sorosis Club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Yates and her husband, Wayne and Donnie Asbury-Jennings and her husband, Dick; four grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Asbury and his wife Sunny, Steve Asbury and his wife Erin, Cindy Paschall and her husband Scott, and Kenny Yates; seven great grandchildren, Ashlea, Baylea, Hunter, Lauren, Abigail, Braden, and Draesen, and her great grandson Trent.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Edmonson; her mother and father; four sisters, Odessa Dabbs, Vera Duvall, Ruby Burch, and Connie McKee; and two brothers, Leroy and Arnold Dabbs.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Hollis, Oklahoma with Jeff Dill officiating. Interment will be at the Dryden Cemetery in Harmon County. Services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hollis in memory of Mildred Edmonson.
