Carl Edwin Crosnoe, age 92, of Hollis, passed away Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at Plantation Village Nursing Center, in Altus. Mr. Crosnoe was born in Harmon County, on the family farm, on September 10, 1920, to G.W. and Johnnie (Moore) Crosnoe. Beginning school at Dryden, he graduated from Ron High School and continued his education at Cameron College, in Lawton. On December 16, 1943, he married the love of his life, Dulan Mae Pendergraft, and they spent the next sixty-eight wonderful years together before her death on May 2, 2012.
Shortly after their marriage, Carl joined the United States Army Air Corps, where he proudly served his country during World War II. After the war, the United States Military graciously sent Carl home on the Queen Mary. Carl left the service as a Master Sergeant, where he was an airplane engine mechanic and an airplane inspector being a recipient of the Bronze Service Star and Silver Service Star. Upon their return to Harmon County, Carl and Dulan were sent to the “weaning house” on the G.W. Crosnoe place for their first home. Carl began his life-long love of farming and ranching and continued in that profession until his death.
Preceded in death by his parents, G.W. and Johnnie Crosnoe; his son, Cody Lynn Crosnoe, in 1984 and his wife, Dulan, in 2012.
He is survived by one son, Thad Crosnoe and wife Irene, of Altus; three grandchildren, Cyle Crosnoe of Hollis; Brandi Story and husband Shane of Tuttle and Leah Logan and husband Jeremy of Tuttle; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Crosnoe, Cash Story and Presley Logan, along with many other relatives and friends.
