Myrtle Osborn, age 88, of Hollis, passed away Thursday, October
18, 2012, at Harmon Memorial Hospital, in Hollis.
Mrs. Osborn was born March 22, 1924 in Rock Springs, Texas to
Reuben Levi and Myrtle Rose (McMath) Leonard. On October 4,
1941, she married Herman Osborn and they spent the next
fifty-five wonderful years together before his death on July 26,
1996. For many years they lived in the Vinson community before
moving to Hollis for ten years. After leaving Hollis, they moved
to Granite where Herman passed away. After Herman’s death, she
moved back to Hollis, where she lived until her death. For many
years, Myrtle cooked at the nursing home and drove the senior
citizen’s bus. During her spare time Mrs. Osborn enjoyed
reading, crocheting, and spending time with her children and
grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Ruben; her daughter, Bernadine; one grandson, Robert Hillis and her brother, Rueben Leonard.
She is survived by her three children, Geraldine Hillis and husband Bob of Hollis, Burr Osborn and wife Patsy of Colbert, Oklahoma and Raymond Osborn and wife Suzie of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Michelle Palmer and husband Michael of Gould, Betty Lyn Seeley and husband Don of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, Misty Shick and husband Wade of Oologah, Oklahoma, Paul McInturf, Jr. and wife Norissa of Childress, Texas, Christi Moreno of Wylie, Texas, Tami Williams and husband Brandon of Cape Geraldo, Missouri, Brian Osborn and wife Cheslie of Lafayette, Louisiana and Shonda Mantoon and husband Todd of Kingston, Oklahoma; fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, W. J. Leonard and wife Dot of Springfield, Virginia along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Myrtle Osborn will be at 10:00 am, Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Hollis Nazarene Church with Pastor Jim Fishback officiating. Interment will follow at Cave Creek Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, of Hollis.
