Irma Jo "Jody" Jackson was born June 16, 1925 in Jester, Oklahoma to Sudie Irma and William Travis Hatter. She passed away June 2, 2012 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 16 days.Irma Jo grew up in the Willow community graduating from Kress, Texas High School as salutatorian in 1943. After graduation she returned to Willow where she began working at First State Bank. She was married to John H. Jackson at Willow, Oklahoma on January 26, 1946. After their marriage, they lived in Oklahoma City where she worked for CIT Group as a bookkeeper and retired after 25 years of service. John and Irma were active members of the Moore First Baptist Church for over 40 years where she volunteered for Vacation Bible School and in the prayer room. She was an active participant in the Senior Group and choir and loved traveling to church activities. Irma also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wayne Hatter.She is survived by her husband, John, of the home; 2 children, Tom Jackson and wife, Donna, Salmon, ID, Devon Nunemann and husband, Paul, Denver, CO; 3 grandchildren, Erin Jackson, Alison Davis and Ryan Finley; 3 great grandchildren, Luke Moore, Hunter Davis and Hailey Davis; 2 sisters, Jimmie Grace Corbitt and husband, Norris, Travonna Wootton and husband, Verlin and a host of other relatives and friends.The family wishes to express a special thank you to her niece, Veronica Buffington for all of her loving care the past couple of years.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Willow Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Will J. Roberts.
Burial will be at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
