Graveside service for Nettie Modelle Elam, 97, Mangum, Oklahoma will be at the
Willow Cemetery, Willow, Oklahoma with Rev. David Weber, Living Water United
Pentecostal Church, Mangum, Oklahoma officiating under the direction of Greer
Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Elam passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Nettie Modelle Elam was born to James Edward and Ora Elva (Clemmer) Tyra in
Justice Prentice 2, Wichita County, Texas on December 16, 1918. She grew up in
Willow, Oklahoma where she attended school. She married James Theodore Elam in
Granite, Oklahoma on April 10,1938. She was a homemaker who loved her children
and life in general. Modelle was a little bit of every mother that ever lived.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Mary Elva Tyra, two
brothers, Hubert Edward Tyra and Byron Eldridge Tyra and 3 children, Evelyne
Louise Elam, Carlos Edward Elam and Kenneth Nelson Elam.
Survivors include four children, James Byron Elam, Beverly Allyne Elam, Elva
Katherine Elam and Merline Yvonne Elam; Numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren, great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
