Oscar Crawford Thomason, age 93, of Mangum, passed away early Saturday morning, October 27, 2012, at Grace Living Center, in Mangum.
Mr. Thomason was born in the Wildcat Community on April 6, 1919, to Oscar and Nora (Clendenon) Thomason. After graduating from Centralvue School in 1938, he began farming and ranching. On July 23, 1951, he married the love of his life, Eloise “Billie Jo” Waller, in Sayre, and they spent the next sixty-one wonderful years together, until his death. A farmer-rancher at heart, Crawford and Billie Jo lived on the same farm for over sixty years, until their home burned on April 12, 2011 and they moved to Mangum. For several years, Crawford owned and operated the Pool Hall, in Mangum, and became very good in the game. During his spare time, Crawford enjoyed fighting chickens, playing poker and shooting pool.
Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dewey Thomason, John Thomason and Alfred “Cub” Thomason; three sisters, Vera Dennis, Nelda Lowry and Eunice Thomason and his daughter, Sandy Waller, he is survived by his wife, Billie Jo, of the home; two children, Charlene Joiner and husband Ken of Mangum and Kenneth Waller and wife Mary of Payette, Idaho; six grandchildren, Randall Taylor of Wyoming, Justin Bailey and wife Tiffany of Pratt, Kansas, Tony Jenkins and wife Barbara of Kemp, Texas, Shelly Mullins and husband Terry of Mangum, Tracey Thompson and husband Robert of Sherman, Texas and Ricky Hollaway and wife Marsha of Greenville, Texas; sixteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
