Genevia Jeune Warren, age 92, of Eunice, New Mexico and
formerly of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away, Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at her
residence, in Eunice.
Mrs. Warren was born in Greer County Oklahoma on June 13, 1923, to Odie Corbett
and Alice Jane (Hepler) Atchley. She attended Russell High School and graduated
from Mangum High School. A resident of Greer County for most of her life, Jeune
worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell, for several years before
becoming a caregiver. She married Bob Warren and he preceded her in death in the
early 1970s. Jeune was a lifetime member of the Easter Star at Gould and Mangum.
In her spare time Jeune enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading her Bible, but
most of all she enjoyed being with her family. When her health began to fail,
she moved to Eunice, to be near her great nephew and his family.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; two brothers, Lathel Corbet
Atchley and Carthel Calvin (Slim) Atchley; two sisters, Ester Cleona Atchley and
Octavia Lawana Kelly; two nieces, Naomi Beaver and Diana Sue Lyle and one
nephew, Dwayne Atchley, she is survived by two nephews, Lynn Atchley of Branson,
Missouri and Odie Kelly of Poway, California and one niece Alice Wanetta Wilson
of Poway, California along with many other family members and friends.
Graveside services for Genevia Jeune Warren will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March
26, 2016, at Roselawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Greer
Funeral Home of Mangum.
