Emilio R. “Amos” Sauseda, age 74, of Mangum, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 27, 2012, at his residence in Mangum.
Mr. Sauseda was born on May 18, 1937, in Sonora, Texas to Vincente and Rafaela (Rios) Sauseda. As a child, the family moved to Louisiana where he lived until he moved to Dallas, Texas where he married the love of his life, Toni Torres, on January 20, 1959. They later moved to Gotebo, Oklahoma for a short time and then to Mangum in 1971, where he worked for Dr. Stone a short time and later at Mangum Brick Plant for over twenty years, retiring in 1996, due to health reasons. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and camping but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy Sauseda and Jimmy Sauseda and three sisters Virginia Alejandro, Helen Melder and Dina Grisby, he is survived by his wife Toni, of the home; five children, Ricky Sauseda and wife Rose of Lawton, Genny Dyer and husband Bert of Mangum, Debbie Embrey and husband Bret of Azle, Texas, Gary Sauseda and wife Kelly of Mangum and Ginger Norton and husband Cary of Mangum; ten grandchildren, James Sauseda, John Sauseda, Victor Serna, Jr., Joseph Serna, Jenna Garcia, Heather Dyer, Brian Bustos, Misty Smith, Ashley Sauseda and Bailey Sauseda; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Strange of Forrest Hill, Louisiana, Shirley Butter of Forrest Hill, Louisiana and Jo Ann Carpenter of Alexandria, Louisiana; two brothers, Bennie Sauseda and wife Betty of Forrest Hill, Louisiana and Robert Sauseda and wife Gloria of Forrest Hill, Louisiana; a very special friend, Larry Reynolds and wife Sue of Mangum along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Emilio Sauseda will be at 11 a.m., Friday, March 30, 2012, at Mangum First Baptist Church with Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
