Mary Pineda, age 64, of Mangum, passed away early Thursday morning, April 12, 2012, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.
Mrs. Pineda was born on August 12, 1947, in Three Rivers, Texas to Augustin and Manuela (Tijerina) Molina. After losing her father at a young age, her mother remarried Otilio Pineda and the family moved to Mathis, TX in 1959. In 1962 the family moved to the Mangum area. On October 28, 1969, she married Armando Pineda, Sr., in Chickasha, Oklahoma after his discharge from the United States Army. They established their home in Greer County where she lived until her death. Mary was a homemaker and caregiver to elderly in the community including her mother. She enjoyed spending time sewing, cooking, reading, and going to garage sales. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was also a very active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her father, sister Olga, and her step-father Otilio Pineda, she is survived by her husband Armando Pineda, Sr., of the home, in Mangum; two sons, Armando Pineda, Jr. and wife Heather of Duncan and Augustin Pineda and wife Tamara of Mangum; eleven grandchildren, Devin Kerbo and wife Tori, Tristan Pineda, Brianna Tullous, Allison Tullous, Jett Pineda, Emerson Pineda, Brittany Pineda, Drake Pineda, Jonathan Pineda, A.J. Pineda and Ashleigh Pineda; one great grandson, Cooper Kerbo; thirteen siblings and their spouses, Damiana Herrera of Mathis, TX; Lupe and Lewis Zambro of Sebastian, TX; Dolores and Gregory Esparza of Mangum, OK; Joe Pineda of Plainview, TX and Cecilia Pineda of Mangum, OK; Juanita and Bob Hamilton of Alamo, TX; Juanita Molina of Mangum, OK; Santos Molina of Mangum, OK; Rufina Gonzalez of Panhandle, TX; Ascension and David Ricketts of Choctaw, OK; Rose Mary and Ricky Sauseda of Lawton, OK; Flora Warren of Lawton, OK; Raymond and Jessica Pineda of Mangum, OK; and Nicky and Mitch Bennett of Higginsville, MO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral Mass for Mary Pineda will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mangum, OK. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
