Frances Paschal “Pat” (Chambers) Curtis, age 95, of Mangum, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2013, at Quartz Mountain Medical Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Curtis was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on February 16, 1917, to James William and Jessie Roeann (Arnold) Chambers. A 1935, graduate of Mangum School, Pat married Horace E. Curtis, Jr. on September 17, 1939, and they farmed in the Lake Creek Community for many years. Pat was employed in the Greer County Clerk's Office and at Guarantee State Bank, in Mangum, for many years and was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. Although Pat and Horace never had children of their own, they had several nieces and nephews whom they dearly loved. Described by several of her friends, “Pat was a wonderful friend who had a ready smile for everyone and was always pleasant.”
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Pat leaves many nieces, nephews, friends, former co-workers and church family to cherish her memory.
Funeral services for Pat Curtis will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Greer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
