Carol Lynn Coleman, age 67, of Wichita Falls, Texas peacefully passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas with both daughters by her side.
Ms. Coleman was born in Mangum on July 27, 1941, to Felma Franklin and Syble Lee (Prigmore) Heatly. After attending Eastview and Brinkman Schools, she graduated from Mangum High School in 1959. A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State College, at Weatherford, she married J. Carl Coleman and preceded to have two daughters, Carmen and Christy. Carol Coleman was a loving wife and mother to her children. Family was of great importance to her and the heritage of her family always walked beside her. Her parents and brother, Jimmy Heatly, were the love of her life. After her daughters left home, Carol began a career as a decorator in Wichita Falls, Texas. Up to her passing, Carol enjoyed painting, cooking for others and leaving a room more visually inspiring.
She will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Carmen Allen and husband Rusty of Menard, Texas and Christy Coleman and Rider of Venice Beach, California; three grandchildren, Laramie, Dakota and Chisum all of Menard; one brother, Jimmy Heatly and wife Joyce of Willow; one niece, Jill DeRusha and husband Randy of Willow; one nephew, Jack Heatly and wife Darla of Mangum along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Carol Coleman will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Mangum Church of Christ with Todd McRay officiating. Interment will follow at the Jester Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
The family will greet friends at the Mangum Church of Christ on Tuesday, beginning at 10 a.m., until service time.
