Ronald Paul Locklear Sr., age 52, of Granite, passed away early Sunday morning,
May 29, 2011, at Quartz Mountain Medical Center, in Mangum.
Ronnie was born February 23, 1959, in Hobart, Oklahoma to Bobby Eugene and Joyce
Marie "Tommie" (Hammons) Locklear. He attended school in Granite, with the
exception of one year, 1970, when he attended elementary school in Corpus
Christi, Texas. He lived in the Granite area most of his life, working in the
roofing industry. Ronnie was affectionately called "Cap'n Ron" by his many
nieces and nephews, and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and NASCAR racing.
He always looked forward to visits from his three grandsons. His hero was John
Wayne. Ronnie married Louise Ester on June 13, 2005. In the six years they
enjoyed together, they traveled, visiting family and friends.
He is survived by wife, Louise, of their home in Granite; a daughter, Sha'na Lee
and her husband, Darryl of Henderson, North Carolina; one son, Ronnie Paul
Locklear of Granite; three grandsons, Darryl Lee, Dylon Lee and Shane Lee of
Henderson, North Carolina. He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law,
Marie and Dennis Lynch of Guthrie; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and
Lisa Locklear of Granite, and David and Jan Locklear of Oklahoma City; a host of
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his beloved
canine, "Lady."
Funeral services for Ronnie Locklear will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011,
at the Granite Assembly of God Church, officiated by Glen Burkhalter. Services
are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
