Morris Griffis, age 89, of Willow, passed away late Tuesday night, December 13, 2011, at his residence, north of Eastview.

A longtime member of the Church of Christ, Morris farmed and ranched in the Eastview Community all of his life. In his spare time, Morris enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, making things out of wood and doing a few carpentry projects, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Othel Griffis and Hubert Griffis; three sisters, Willa Mae Griffis, Helen Ruth Byrd and Bonita Imogene McDonald; one grandson, Lance Griffis and two great granddaughters, Grace Ann Perez and Olivia Thay Perez. Survivors include his wife, Era Thay, of the home; three children, Laneeta Ann Malone of Edmond, Sonya Thay Patten and husband Randy of Willow and Kenneth Moss Griffis of Willow; seven grandchildren, Nathan Malone of Oklahoma City, Laci Perez and husband Tony of Oklahoma City; Tori Thay Britton and husband Bradley of Willow, Tanner Patten of Willow, Anna Rogers and husband Rodney of Willow, Cody Griffis and friend, Jamie Keenum of Willow and Sarah Bogart of Mangum; nine great grandchildren, Betsy Perez, River Britton, Allie Britton, Luke Rogers, Beau Rogers, Zeke Rogers, Laramie Griffis, Callie Griffis and Cade Griffis; one sister, Juanita Hood of Willow along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Morris Griffis will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Willow Church of Christ with Jim Foster and Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Brinkman Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
