school at Hibbard, Oklahoma, east of Erick. She went on to teach twenty years,
all in Greer County. On January 5, 1945, she married the love of her life, Filey
Morris Griffis, and they spent the next sixty-seven wonderful years together
before his death on December 13, 2011. Living on the farm all of their lives,
she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School
Class for many years and was active in Vacation Bible School. Era loved to sew,
piece quilts, quilt and was interested in her Homemakers group which she
belonged to for 32 years. Her family was very important to her. Her
grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy, referring so many
times with “Bless their little hearts”.

and husband Gerald; her husband, Filey Morris Griffis; one grandson, Filey Lance
