Wakita Cemetery


A graveside memorial service for Harold Benjamin Tippin, 88, will be 1 p.m. Friday in Wakita Cemetery. The Rev. Dan O’Daniel will officiate. Cremation arrangements were by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no visitation or viewing at the funeral home. The register book will be at the service.

He was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Wakita to Jesse Howard and Lucinda Jane Wilson Tippin and died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at his home in Enid.

He attended schools at Deer Creek. He married Bette Slaughter April 10, 1938, in Cherokee. They made their home in the Wakita area where they farmed. They moved to Enid in 1992 after he retired from farming. He was a member of Cowboy Church.

Surviving are his wife, Bette of the home; two daughters, Judith Nathan of Enid and Carla Horning of Ada; one son, John Tippin of Honolulu; one sister, Maxine Williams of Tulsa; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hospice Circle of Love.
