ENID — WAKITA — Funeral service for Michael Thomas Koehler, 50, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, Wakita, with Father Lourdu Ponnapati officiating. Burial will follow in Wakita Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Medford. Viewing will be 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Memories may be shared with the family at www.lanmanmemorials.com.

Michael was born Dec. 18, 1961, in Woodward, Okla., to Thomas Edwin Koehler and Virginia Elizabeth Yerian Koehler and passed from this life Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at Wakita Community Health Center.

Michael lived his entire life in the Wakita area. He graduated from Wakita HighSchool.

After high school, he was a welder at WAKO in Enid. He later droveheavy equipment for Grant County.

Michael was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Wakita.

He was a huge OU fan and enjoyed working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those who survive Michael include his daughters, April Koehler and Autumn Koehler, both of Wichita, Kan.; stepdaughter, Amber Shafer of Wichita, Kan.; stepson, Nick Shafer of Caldwell, Kan.; his mother, Virginia Koehler of Wakita; sister, Brenda Ball and husband Jeff of Dawson, Ill.; half-sisters, Sheila Green of Enid, Debbie Perry and husband Bob of Waukomis and Janet Anderson of Enid; half-brother, Tom Koehler Jr. and wife Becky of Enid; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Wakita Community Health Center through the funeral home.
