A Celebration of Life service for Vickie Jo Guthrie, age 73, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Enid, OK. Burial will follow in the Wakita Cemetery in Wakita, OK, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Vickie was born January 27th, 1950, in Wellington, KS, to Wayne and Mildred Hunter and passed away Tuesday, August 3rd, 2023.
Vickie was raised on a farm near Wellington, KS, where she graduated from Wellington High School in 1968. She married John Guthrie on August 3rd, 1972, in Holly, OK. Vickie attended Red Rocks Community College in Colorado and obtained her degree in Licensed Practical Nursing.
After retirement, Vickie continued volunteering at the Wakita nursing home. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and hosting the holidays. Vickie also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping, and going out to eat.
Vickie is survived by her daughter Tamara Guthrie of Enid; granddaughter Brittany Holderly of Enid; granddaughter Amber Felton of Monte Vista, CO; granddaughter Alicia Zarate of Fairview, OK; great-grandchildren, Daylen Guthrie, Easton Guthrie, and Aubrianna Skaggs-Guthrie; sister, Charlotte Phillips and brother-in-law Bob Phillips, of Edmond, OK; nephews Robbie, Tyler, Ryan Phillips and family; mother-in-law Florabelle Guthrie of Wakita, OK; brother-in-law Steve and wife Ruth of El Reno, OK; and several cousins and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Mildred, husband John, son Brian, brother-in-law Dan, sister-in-law Judy, and father-in-law Howard.
