On July 23rd, 1948, she married Leroy Catterton and to that union a precious son, Brent Lee Catterton, was born. After Leroy was killed in an accident, Myrtle attended beauty college. Myrtle remained on the farm after Leonard's death in 2010. In 2015 she moved to Enid and in 2016 she moved to Wichita, Kansas, to be near her granddaughter Shellee.
