Wakita Cemetery


The funeral for Ruby A. Ayers, 89, of Wakita, will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Wakita. The Revs. Jeff Enabnit and Bob Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Wakita Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

She was born Aug. 5, 1917, northeast of Wakita to John Joseph and Edna Mae Griffin Simons and died Friday, March 23, 2007, in Enid.

She graduated from Wakita High School. She was a member of First Christian Church, Wakita and Christian Women Fellowship. She married Gib Ayers July 6, 1941.

Surviving are two sons, John Ayers of Nash and Jim Ayers of Emporia, Kan.; one sister, Edna Mae Neal of Caldwell, Kan.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Christian Church or Community Health Center.
