MEDFORD — Mass of Christian burial for Joe Solorio, 60, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. Friday morning, Sept. 28, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Carl Janocha officiating. Committal prayers and interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Medford. Remembrance service will be 7 p.m. today, Sept. 27, 2012, at the church under the kind guidance of Stittsworth Funeral Service, Medford.
Joe was born July 2, 1952, in Enid the son of Joe and Lucy Martin Solorio. Joe crossed over to his new home on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joe attended school in Medford, graduating in 1971.
After graduation, he was employed in Oklahoma City and Wichita, Kan., where he met the love of his life, Barbara Cannada. They married Feb. 4, 1978.
Joe was employed for Conoco in Medford in 1978 until the time of his death.
Joe enjoyed classic cars, his Harleys, hunting, fishing, OU football, his family and friends.
Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara of the residence; brother, John and wife Liz of Ponca City; sisters, Angie Solorio, and Rose Ann Solorio and companion Jesse Padillo, all of Wichita, Kan.; three nephews; one niece; and four great-niece. Joe leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Essie Cannada; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
The family has suggested St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Hospice Circle of Love, or Cancer Treatment Center of Tulsa, as appropriate for memorial donations with the Stittsworth’s coordinating.
