Blackwell – Rosary and Christian Wake Service for Jacob Pierre Ronck Sr., 87, who died Saturday, May 31, 1986 in a Blackwell hospital, where held at 7:30 PM Monday at Roberts Chapel in Blackwell.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blackwell with Rev. Cletus Bash, Rev. Kevin Devlin of Cherokee and Rev. James Greiner, Elk City, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Medford under direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the lung division of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
Ronck was born March 12, 1899, at Wakita. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blackwell and grew up on a farm near Wakita and attended schools there.
He married Frances K. Ciskowski on October 19, 1920, in Clyde. They settled on a farm northeast of Wakita. In 1943, they moved to a farm near Eddy where they lived until 1946 when they moved to Blackwell. In 1949 they moved to their current farm south of Blackwell.
He was named farmer – rancher of the month by WKY – TV in October 1961. He helped organize the Kay County Farm Bureau. He was past President of the Blackwell Co-op board of directors and was a past member of the Soil Conservation Service Board. He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member.
Survivors include his wife, Frances, three daughters, Margaret Ronck, Blackwell; Norma Dempewolf, Edmond; and Frances Schiltz, Ponca City; a son, Jacob P. Ronck, Blackwell; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great – grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren.
