MEDFORD, Okla. — Rosary for Otto F. Ferda, 82, will be 7 p.m. today, Jan. 17, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Carl William Janocha officiating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Medford. Viewing is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at the funeral home. (www.lanmanmemorials.com) Otto was born Feb. 3, 1931, on the family farm near Renfrow to Rudolf and Emily Krejsek Ferda and passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Community Health Center in Wakita.

He grew up on the farm and attended Fairview District 28, near Renfrow, and then attended Caldwell High School.

Otto farmed all of his life. He loved his Czech heritage and enjoyed listening to Polka music. He met Janice Bolay at the Yukon Czech Festival and they later married on Oct. 6, 1978, at St. Francis Church in Enid. To this union came one son, Paul.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janice Ferda; one son, Paul Ferda and wife Megan; sister-in-law, Irene Ferda; many nieces and nephews.

Otto was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward and Rudy Ferda.

Memorials may be given to Hospice Circle of Love, Enid, or St. Mary Calvary Cemetery through the funeral home.
