The memorial service for Larry Cless, age 61, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Medford. Reverend Bobby Smith will officiate assisted by Dr. Jim Lady. Burial will be at Spring Creek Cemetery north of Deer Creek at 1:30 p.m. for family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Medford. Larry was born June 3, 1950 in Caldwell, Kansas to James and Jennie Cless and went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2011.
He had various occupations, but is best remembered as being one of the best mechanics in Grant County. He married his high school sweetheart, Debra Wirtz on June 3, 1968. He graduated from Deer Creek High School. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Deer Creek.
Survivors include, his wife, Debra of the home; two sons, Jeff Cless of Breckinridge, Robbie Cless and wife, Nicky of Medford; three grandchildren, Brice, Blake and Bailey Cless of Medford; parents, Amos and Jennie Smith of Deer Creek; brother, Evan Cless of Ponca City; three sisters, Patty Moore and husband, Gail of Deer Creek, Sally Leatherman and husband, Ronnie of Braman, Judy Morris and husband, Sonny of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Cless and grandmother, Vera Reed.
Memorials may be made to Spring Creek Cemetery, Medford Fire Department and Ambulance Service or Miller EMS.
