ENID — William “Bill” Joe Wilson was born Sept. 19, 1927, southeast of Medford, Okla., to Emery and Mary Jane (Parrett) Wilson. He passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2012, in Corn, Okla., at the age of 84.
Bill delivered gas for Medford Co-op, owned a Texaco station and worked in maintenance for District No. 11 in Colorado.
He married LoRita Herndon July 22, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was a member of the Crickets RV Club, several bowling leagues (bowling a perfect 300 at age 75) and Trout Haven Home Owners Association. He also was a member of First Christian Church in Hydro, Okla.
Surviving are his wife, LoRita Wilson of Hydro, Okla.; his children, Randy B. Wilson and wife Patricia of Crosby, Texas, Jerie K. Back and husband Larry of Conchas Dam, N.M., M. Kent Wilson of Schaumberg, Ill., and Troy D. Wilson of Glen Arbor, Mich.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Dale Wilson of Enid, Okla.; brothers-in-law, Bob Herndon of Oklahoma, and Darrell Herndon of Enid, Okla.; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Mary Jane Wilson, and brother, Kenneth Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to First Christian Church, Hydro, OK 73048; Hydro Fire Department (First Responders), City Hall, P.O. Box 248, Hydro, OK 73048; or Integris Hospice of Western Oklahoma, 514 Avant Ave., Clinton, OK 73601.
His service was held Monday, June 18, 2012, with Rev. Rick Dyson officiating. Arrangements by Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Okla. Local arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
