Rosemound Cemetery


Medford – Services for Fred N. Unbehauen, 88, will be 2 PM Monday at the United Methodist Church in Medford with the Rev. James Sanders officiating. Burial will be at the Rosemound Cemetery under the direction of Hills Funeral Home.

Born May 21, 1898, in McPherson County, Kansas, he moved to Oklahoma with his parents in 1899 and settled on a farm Northeast of Medford.

He married Luella Schmitz August 14, 1930. Living on the family homestead, he raced Hereford cattle. He retired in 1966 and moved to Medford.

He served in the Armed Forces from November 5, 1918, to February 24, 1919. He was a director of the Clyde Cooperative Association board, a member of the Hereford Breeders Association and served on the District 29 School Board for 15 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Medford.

Survivors include his wife, Luella, of the home; a daughter, Freda Kretchmar and a son, J. B., both of Medford; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four sisters, Elnora Unbehauen, Velma Etling, Opal Myers, all of Medford, and Neva Dukeshire, Miami.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the United the Methodist Church in Medford with the funeral home as custodian.
