December 23, 1951 - March 6, 2021

Charles “Chuck” Edward Smith, age 69, lifelong resident of Medford, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his home.

Celebrate of Life Service for Chuck will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Medford Civic Center with Jeff McReynolds officiating. Graveside will immediately follow at Rosemound Cemetery in Medford. Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc in Medford with family present from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. www.lanmanmemorials.com Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Chuck was born on December 23, 1951 to Cameron and Earline (Clayton) Smith in Arkansas City, Kansas. He was raised on a farm northwest of Medford, Oklahoma. He attended Medford Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1970. After high school, he attended Automotive Technology School in Wichita, Kansas. Upon graduation, Chuck returned to Medford to help run the family farm and start his career in truck driving. He married Cindy Kraus on October 30, 1976 in Hawley, Oklahoma and they resided in Medford until his passing.

Chuck enjoyed a lifetime of farming, working on machinery and most of all his beloved grandchildren who they called “Papa”.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Smith of Medford; sons, Chad Smith of Medford, and Casey and wife, Haley of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Cameron, Emersen and Braylee Smith, as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Smith; sisters, Betty Reimer, and Doris Bias.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chuck’s name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Medford or the charity of donor’s choice through the funeral home.
