Kenneth W. Osburn, age 93, was born on September 10, 1923, in Hutchinson, Kansas, and died December 15, 2016, in Wakita, Oklahoma.

Kenneth was the second of seven children born to parents Roy Osburn and Bessie Pearl Terry Osburn. He graduated from Medford High School in 1942 as president of his class. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946. He trained in aircraft maintenance on B25 and B26 engines and attended Gunnery School in Laredo Texas. He was flight engineer on B26s, pulling tow targets to train pilots on B24 Liberators and B17 Flying Fortresses.

After the war, Kenneth married Cecil Leola Anderson on June 8, 1947, in Medford, and they had three daughters. He raised his family in Enid and Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Hutchinson, Kansas, while working in two fields: farm equipment manufacturing as a design engineer, patent holder and production manager and automotive services as a service manager and diagnostician.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Bonnie Drechsler and Nadine Charles.

His survivors include his three daughters, Candace Sheep and Terre Fletcher of Austin, Texas, and Beth McGhee of Hutchinson, Kansas, and his sons-in-law, Lloyd Sheep and Charles McGhee. He is survived by four beloved grandchildren, Philip McGhee of Hutchinson, Kansas, Stephanie McGhee of McPherson, Kansas, and Amber Fletcher and Elizabeth Sheep, both of Austin, Texas. Great-grandchildren are Madison Brown of Austin, Texas, and Liam Salmans of McPherson, Kansas. Kenneth is also survived by his brother Zane Osburn of Medford, Oklahoma, and sisters, Coleen Powell of Hemet, California, Phyllis Templeton of Wellington, Kansas, and Evelyn Keith of Medford, Oklahoma.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 2 p.m., with viewing beginning at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church in Medford, with Rev. Craig VanDeburgh officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, with Lanman Funeral Home, Inc., of Medford in charge of arrangements. www.lanmanmemorials.com
