Clarence LeRoy Newland was born on January 6, 1941 in rural Renfrow, Oklahoma to Clarence Otto and Edith Josephine Cooperrider Newland. He graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1959 in Deer Creek, Oklahoma. He farmed and ranched his entire life. He also worked for soil conservation planting bermuda grass. He served six years in the 381st Army Reserves out of Ponca City. He married Nancy Pease on June 26, 1966. He was a member of the Blackwell Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; one daughter, Sheryl Lee Lyons and husband, Mike of Edmond; son, Gary Joe Newland and wife, Amie of Medford; five grandchildren, Trevor Lyons of Texas, Megan Archibeque of Weatherford, Tara Lyons of Oklahoma City, Emily and Natalie Newland of Medford; three great grandsons, Riley, Waylon, and Wyatt Lyons.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence in 1991 and Edith in 2003, and sister, Charolotte in 1993.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.
