The funeral for Danny Frank Kennedy, 68, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Medford. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate, and Rev. Jeff Jackson will give a eulogy. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.
He was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Frederick, to Paul Blough Kennedy and Louise Annabelle Patterson Kennedy and died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid.
The family moved to Medford when he was two months old. He graduated from Medford High School in 1956, Oklahoma State University in 1960 and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1963. He was a pharmacist and owned and operated Kennedy Drug Co. in Medford since the mid-80s.
He married Carrol Ann Cardwell Aug. 14, 1960. She preceded him in death on Jan. 8, 1990. He married Ramona Ruth McCaskey Dout Feb. 14, 1992.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Medford, ordained as a deacon, taught Sunday school class and was music director and assistant music director for years. He was a member of Medford Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife Ramona; one daughter, Cara Lavon Jackson of Enid; two sons, Rhett Paul Kennedy of Lakewood, Calif., and Kip Patterson Kennedy of Pfugerville, Texas; two step-daughters, Ronda Nault and Raquel Meier, both of Okeene; one stepson, Chris Harris of Stillwater; one sister, Paula Beth Ahlborn of Yucaipa, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Carrol.
