Edward Robert Forrester
Edward Forrester, 72, passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. Edward was born to Albert and Florence (Hieronymus) Forrester on Jan. 8, 1943, in Enid, Okla.
He attended the rural school north of Medford, Okla., and later graduated from Medford High School. He continued his education and later graduated with honors from Oklahoma State Tech School in Okmulgee, Okla., with a degree in diesel mechanics.
After graduating from high school, Edward joined the United States Army Reserve and served his country until 1969, in which he was honorably discharged.
Edward married Sandra Singree on Oct. 21, 1967, in Aline, Okla. They made their home in Enid, Okla., where Edward was employed at Western Company and Dowell Chemical as a diesel mechanic.
Edward and Sandra moved in 1972 to Medford to take over the family farm. From this point on Edward raised wheat and cattle and served his community through his involvement on the Medford City Council, Clyde Cooperative Board of Directors and First Christian Church, in which he currently served as a deacon emeritus.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence Forrester. He is survived by his wife at home, Sandra Forrester, and cousin, Ann Suydan.
Funeral service for Edward “Ed” Forrester will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at First Christian Church, Medford.
Burial is at Rosemound Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army. The Rev. Craig VanDeburgh will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Medford.
