The funeral for Evelyn Grace Quigley Dahlem, 94, of Medford, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, Medford. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.
She was born Aug. 24, 1914, northwest of Medford to William Freemont and Fanny Anna Jeliek Quigley and died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Grace Memory Center, The Commons.
She graduated from Medford High School in May 1932. She attended college in Tonkawa and Alva. She taught in rural schools, including Prairie View, District 31. She married Dale Dahlem Aug. 11, 1940, in Jefferson. He died in 1977. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Medford, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and held many positions in the United Methodist Women. In 1989, she became a volunteer at Wheatheart Nutrition Center, Medford, serving more than 16 years. She received a Special Merit award in recognition of volunteer services to her community through the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Darla Misak of Medford and Donna Beckham of Enid; one sister, Ruth Maxine Misak of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Dale, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
