A memorial service for Loren Junior Anthony, 81, of Medford, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Church of the Nazarene, Medford. The Revs. Stuart A. Johnson, Bobby Smith and Rick Talley will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. The Army will conduct military rites. Arrangements are by Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.
He was born Nov. 11, 1927, in Greenfield, Kan., to Loren L. and Goldie L. Algire Anthony and died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008.
He attended Medford Schools. He joined the Merchant Marine at age 15, before he became a sergeant in the Army.
He married Wanda Lyon July 13, 1953, in Wellington, Kan. They made their home in Medford, where he worked in farming and as a painter for Joe Kretchmar.
He was a member of Medford Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda of Medford; one son, Loren Phillip Anthony of Wichita, Kan.; and two sisters, Bessie Hagameir of Napa, Idaho, and Peg Schwettmann of Texas.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one daughter.
