Funeral for Robert Dale Spoonemore, 62, of Pond Creek, will be 2 p.m. today, April 27, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Pond Creek. Internment will be in Pond Creek Cemetery. Visitation was 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Pond Creek.
Robert was born Aug. 8, 1952, in Enid, Okla., to William Paul and Elizabeth Marie (Ross) Spoonemore. He passed away April 23, 2015, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
He married Debra Gibson Sept. 9, 1978, in Enid, Okla., where they lived for a short time. They moved to Pond Creek and made it home.
He was a Jack of all trades. He loved to weld and was owner and operator of Design Construction until his illness, which no longer allowed him to continue.
He was an avid NASCAR fan, and he was able to travel to Talladega with his son-in-law, Charlie, in 2007. In 2009 and 2014, he attended the Spring Race at Texas Motor Speedway with his family. He was able to meet some of his favorite drivers, Michael Waltrip and Steve Parks. He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and owned several makes/models throughout his life.
He enjoyed spending time with his mother and his nine grandchildren, especially building projects with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Frank and Lena Spoonemore and Sam and Marguerite Ross; one brother, Darren; one sister, Paulette; nephews, Brad and Martin Shane Spoonemore; dozens of aunts and uncles; and several sisters-in-laws and brother-in-laws.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, of Pond Creek; his wife, Debra, of Pond Creek; daughters, Denita and Charlie Francisco, of Pond Creek, Heather and Buddy Boeckman, of Fairview and Lena Spoonemore, of Pond Creek; brothers, Don Spoonemore, of Perkins, Dean and Penney Spoonemore, of Enid, Dwight, of Enid, Darrell, of Oklahoma City, and Doyle Spoonemore and Terri Hamilton, of Carls Junction, Mo.; sisters, Pauline Jones and Al Risner, of Enid, and Piper and Lou Prinzi, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church in Pond Creek, Oklahoma.
