Michelle Dawn Kraus Shaw

Pond Creek Cemetery

November 14, 1969 - December 28, 2021

Michelle Dawn Kraus was born November 14, 1969, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Tom and Mary Jane Kraus and passed away at her home on December 28th, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michelle was raised on a family farm west of Jefferson where she had fond memories of working alongside her family tending to livestock, working on the land, and riding horses. Michelle was in the Pond Creek-Hunter graduating class of 1988 where she was involved in basketball, FFA and the High School Rodeo Association. But her favorite activity was enjoying time with lifelong friends. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Central Oklahoma and then began working in the banking industry. She had been working in her current position at Farm Credit of Enid as a loan closer for twenty years. She thoroughly loved this job, her co-workers, and customers.

On January 3, 2004, Michelle was united in marriage to Otis Shaw. To this union she gained three daughters whom she loved dearly. Michelle treated them as her own, and they referred to her as Mom. Michelle made it a point for all of them to take a yearly vacation together as a family. Together Otis and Michelle began raising hay and cattle. She loved her cows and especially the baby calves.

Michelle was an active member of the Pond Creek community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, serving as Youth Leader for several years; she was also active in United Methodist Women. Michelle was a current Board of Education member for Pond Creek-Hunter schools.

Michelle is survived by her husband Otis Shaw; her father Tom Kraus and stepmother Mary Kraus; daughters Shalisa Henson and husband Casey, Hanna Davis and Michael Beene, Abby Knoles and husband Cleve; brother Greg Kraus; sister Karla Stephens and husband Josh; grandchildren Brooklynn and Kinley Jennings, Halli and Avery Henson, Aiden and Olivia Davis, Brody Beene; nephews Garrett and Ethan Stephens; step-siblings Marc Davis and wife Tina, Amanda Genuzio and husband Julio; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Jane Kraus; maternal grandparents Louis and Lucille Lavicky, Bud and Louise Miksch; paternal grandparents T.E. and Lois Kraus, Jean Glahn.

Memorials can be made to Pond Creek United Methodist Youth or Pond Creek United Methodist Women, with Wilson Funeral home serving as the custodian.

Viewing will be Friday, January 7th, 5:30-7:00 at United Methodist Church, Pond Creek, and services will be 2:00 Saturday, January 8th, also at United Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Pond Creek Cemetery.
