Memorial service to celebrate the life of Virginia Ringgenberg will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at Pond Creek United
Methodist Church in Pond Creek, OK. Reverend Kay Buchanan will be officiating and the service will be under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Virginia Olive Ringgenberg was born March 3, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska to Elmer L. and Olive Hand Martin and passed peacefully on April 19, 2012.

Due to the early passing of her mother, Virginia moved to Pond Creek, OK at age 6, to be raised by her Uncle Edward and Aunt Eldora Johnston.
Proving to be a sharp young woman, Virginia graduated a year early in 1939 as Valedictorian of her class from Pond Creek High School. She went on to further her education at Baylor
University and Oklahoma College for Women.

She married Melvin H. Breckenridge in 1942 after he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and became a navigator. He was killed in action during World War II in October of 1943, but he
left her with the gift of a daughter, Jane Ann. She later married Bill Ringgenberg in August of 1949, and they farmed, raising cattle and wheat throughout their 43 years of marriage.

Virginia was employed for 30 years as office manager for Lester A. Day Insurance in Pond Creek. She also served as treasurer for Pond Creek-Hunter Schools for 25 years. A lifelong
member of Pond Creek United Methodist Church, she served her church in many capacities as well as treasurer for over 20 years.

Always one to be involved, Virginia was a member of Ruth Chapter of Oklahoma Eastern Star. She served as Mother Advisor for the Pond Creek Order of Rainbow Girls. She acted as
president and treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary. She and her husband Bill were also instrumental in organizing the Pond Creek Young Farmers Organization. For many years,
she served on the Grant County Election Board.

Virginia had a keen mind with many interests. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and hosting parties. She also spent many hours playing bridge with her friends. She had
a love for travel and the world around her, and one of her favorite things in life were family trips to Colorado. Virginia also spent countless hours creating beautiful pieces of needlepoint
that her family will treasure.

Virginia is survived by one daughter Jane Ann Breckenridge Boyer and her husband J.D.; three grandchildren, Jana Lee Boyer, Jill Ann Boyer Halcomb and her husband Danny all of
Pond Creek and Jay Boyer and his wife Janel of Enid; six great-grandchildren, Jalyn and Jevan Overton, Haley, Rylie and Derek Halcomb, and Tyler Jones.

Memorial donations may be made to Pond Creek United Methodist Church, Pond Creek-Hunter Education Foundation, or Pond Creek Fire and Ambulance Fund, with Wilson Funeral
Home serving as custodian of the funds.
