Funeral Services for Vivian Louise Myers,76, Enid, will be Monday, June 20, 2011 at 10:00 in Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gail Edmison officiating. Burial will follow at Pond Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Vivian was born February 21, 1935 in Fairview, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ben and Levina Koehn Jantz, and died June 15, 2011 at The Commons in Enid. Vivian attended schools in Fairview and married Arnold James Myers on October 5, 1954 in Smith Center Kansas. They lived in the Fairview area until 1956 when her husband joined the U.S. Army.
Following his discharge in 1967, they returned to and settled back in Oklahoma. They celebrated 32 years of marriage before he passed away in 1987.
Vivian was an avid New York Yankee Fan and also enjoyed needle point, country music and Westerns. She lived for her family and was passionate about being a grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a teacher of strength and courage until her last days.
She is survived by daughters: Pamela Sue Morris of Enid and Sherry Ann Devoe of Newburg, Oregon; sons: Steve Allen Myers of Dayton, Oregon and Terry Lynn Myers ol Enid; sisters: Lorene Elliott of McMinnville, Oregon, Elsie Koehn of Ringwood and Michelle Martin of Shawnee; Nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; grandson; sister, Martha Nightengale and her parents.
Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research, Cancer Division with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home as custodians of the funds.
