January 29, 1941 - April 22, 2019

Jimmie Dell Mitchell was born on January 29, 1941 to Edna Odell and Edith Irene Gosvener Mitchell at home in Webber Falls, Oklahoma. He attended school at Sunny Slope Rural School While his dad worked on the Fort Gibson Dam. Then he attended elementary school and graduated from Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. He attended college at OSU and Central State University. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard. On October 27, 1962 he married Karalyn Barr. They had one daughter Kaley Margaret Mitchell. On April 19, 1982 he married Karen Mauch. He served as assistant insurance commissioner to Gerald Grimes, Oklahoma State Insurance Commissioner: and then he was an insurance Examiner.

He retired to Pond Creek to be near Kaley and her family. He loved Friday night football and always parked in his favorite spot to enjoy watching Brady and T.J. play. He was always the first one at field events to be sure he had a good spot to Watch T.J. throw the shot. Then later he enjoyed his granddaughter Gracie's basketball and track events. He was one of his grandkids' greatest fans.

Jimmie died on April 22, 2019 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Enid, Ok. He is survived by his daughter and her husband Shane Krittenbrink and grandsons Brady Krittenbrink and fiance' Lauren Shriver, T.J. Mitchell Krittenbrink and his wife Rachel, granddaughter Gracie Krittenbrink, and T.J.'s son, Kross Krittenbrink who was born on Great-Granddad Jimmie's birthday. He was very proud of his Gosvener family and Mitchell family histories and is survived by a host of cousins who share that heritage.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother Ross and his wife Cathy Mitchell, many of his extended family and several beloved friends. His stories, sayings and front porch gatherings will be remembered with love by his family and many friends. He was affectionately called Granddad by all of his grandkids' cousins and friends.

Jimmie Dell Mitchell funeral service is 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2019 at Grant County Expo Center, Pond Creek with interment follow in Pond Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

Memorials may be made to Pond Creek Cemetery Association or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Cancer Research.
