Medford – Christian wake for Nicholas Joseph Isaacs, 98, who died Friday morning at Medford Nursing Home, will be at 8 PM Sunday at Wilson Funeral Chapel in Pond Creek. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Medford, with the Rev. Franklin Wrigley officiating. Burial will follow in Pond Creek Cemetery.
He was born March 4, 1891, in Stacyville, Iowa, and moved at the age of 4 to Oklahoma to a farm 2 miles south of Pond Creek. He attended Berry School and graduated from business college at Guthrie.
He then worked for a bank in Guthrie. On April 18, 1912, he married Myrtle Christmas. They returned to the farm in 1912. He farmed in Grant and Garfield Counties, moving to Jefferson in 1931. They also lived in Perry and Billings before moving to Medford in 1955. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, James and Charles, both of Medford, and N. J. Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Edna Merritt of Pond Creek; one brother, Ben of Pond Creek; one sister, Catherine Sharkey of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; 15 great – grandchildren; and six great – great – grandchildren.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Pond Creek Cemetery Association.

Medford – Bible wake for Myrtle Ivy Isaacs, 97, who died Wednesday at Medford Nursing Home, will be at 7:30 PM Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Medford, with the Rev. Michael Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Pond Creek Cemetery.
She was born March 19, 1893, in Howard, Kansas, to James Welch and Melissa Jane Aul Crismas and moved at an early age to Pond Creek. On April 18, 1912, she married Nicholas J. Isaacs at Pond Creek. They farmed in Grant and Garfield counties. In 1931, they moved to Jefferson. They also lived in Perry and Billings before moving to Medford in 1955. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are three sons, James and Charles, both of Medford, and N. J. Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Edna Merritt of Pond Creek; 11 grandchildren; 16 great – grandchildren; and nine great – great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989.
